Well, following up on Brad Thayer's comment, if Sam had been at the Alamo, the Texans probably would have won.
He was a guy that made charlatans uncomfortable.
I remember him telling me when Hunter Biden's laptop came out,
that besides it being sickening, that it was the real thing.
And he was right.
And you remember that there were 51 sort of intelligence luminaries who signed this letter or this statement saying that this was Russian disinformation to make sure that President Trump didn't win the election.
Those 51 people were very uncomfortable around a guy like Sam.
As I said, he made the charlatans uncomfortable, someone you would always want in a tight spot.
And he also, he actually came from southwest Pennsylvania.
It's where he grew up, a place called Greene County, which is next to Fayette County, which is my mother's home turf.
And this place just bore the brunt.
of deindustrialization, the mines closed, the mills closed.
And those people were all left behind.
Nobody gave two hoots.
And Sam knew where he came from, and he knew those people very well.
And I think that shaped a lot of his ideas, of course.
And he was fighting for them, quite literally.
But he was sort of a scholar, a warrior.
He reminds me a bit of, there's a fellow named Patrick Lee Fairmore,
who was an Englishman.
