Like we went through it the last time.
You know, there are people by birthright, citizenship, identity, nationality, their blood is Irish.
And I I hate that the feeling of of bringing this up because Northern Ireland.
Ireland had seemingly or the IFA had seemingly had this moral high ground here because they were losing the players.
You know, it's like, oh god, love them, like they they're losing players and that's a and I was saying this the last time I was honest, like it's not fair on them because they're invested in the players, they're spending thousands, time, whatever, and then they were eventually losing them and that is awful.
But like
These people, like it's it's the fact that when I talk about this it feels like a bit backward, like, you know, oh, you know, Conan's off on one there.
Like, you know, that's that feels like the wrong thing to say because we have to be mindful of Northern Ireland, uh the IFA and Northern Irish people and British people who who live on the island, but
There there's a whole cohort of Irish people there and what I'm actually saying is the progressive thing they say.
So nineteen ninety eight is when the Good Friday Agreement came in and actually allowed people to declare as Irish and obviously we went through it.
So many people did, hundreds and hundreds of thousands, over half a million.
And they still are to this day.
And they've been given the opportunity only since twenty ten, really, that they're allowed to play for the Republic of Ireland now.
Like so like this is a very
recent thing and this is a progressive thing to let people it's the best thing about Northern Ireland that you can be who you want.
You can be British, you can be Northern Irish, you can be Irish, and everybody gets on with it and the society gets stronger and obviously has over the years.

I think it's unbelievable.
He's denying the Good Friday Agreement, he's denying the right of somebody's birth, denying the right for them to play for the Republic of Ireland and and and suggesting that they have no connection.
to Ireland, which is what people see when you talk about the game, if you're from a nationalist background in the north, you're talking about Ireland.
