And to roll into some wins toward the end of the season to be able to get in the playoffs is exciting.
You mentioned a goal.
I think any NHL player, any player trying to make the NHL, it's the most important thing is to have a role.
And whatever that is, whether it's being a goal scorer, you've got to sometimes beat out some talented players to be the goal scorer of the team.
But to play to your strengths is the biggest thing for me.
Strengths is just being a bigger body and a little more defensive-minded, instinctual player.
And that's why I feel comfortable to try to play with a bit of an edge sometimes and make reads and be aggressive defensively.
When you can have that built with a partner or with partners in general, it helps.
And to be able to play with Darnell lately has been awesome to be able to hone in on stopping whatever line we're up against and to know that you can play within yourself with your role and not be expected to do more or less and really hone in on what your strengths are.
And you know that it'll help the team in the long run.
There's a couple differences but honestly what's helped me personally is that we've had some coaching changes in Chicago the last few years and that's brought in new systems every season pretty much.
So to have new systems you're constantly learning on the fly with different coaching changes and with changes in your team in Chicago that kind of allowed me to be able to adapt and learn different ways of playing so that when I came here some of those little differences I'd done before in the near past
So it's more just getting your routes back down and timing, and it takes a few games to kind of feel that it be second nature.
But nothing was a surprise.
Nothing was something I'd never done before.
So that's what was really nice.
And to have a team that has veteran guys that know how to kind of lead the way with systems and with different day-to-day operations, it makes it a little more seamless.
It really is, yeah.
I've been really fortunate to make money to live a good life on in my career.
And part of that was probably being on some losing teams.
