Game 5, one of the most memorable games, certainly for me in my 18-year career as a direct broadcaster for the Edmonton Oilers, but certainly also in the 45-plus years that I've followed the NHL team. A heartbreaking overtime loss in which the Oilers squandered a 3-0 lead with about five minutes left in the third period. Ducks winning on a Corey Perry overtime goal in the second overtime period by a score of 4-3 to go up three games to do. Then we came back to Rogers Place for game six, and Leon Dreisaitl, who will be a part of the storyline tonight. Leon Dreisaitl was surely brilliant. A three-goal, five-point performance. As the Edmonton Oilers pumped Anaheim 7-1 in that game to go up three games to tie the series 3-3.
Game 7, low event, low scoring game. Drake DeJula scored the lone Oilers goal. Edmonton losing 2-1 and losing the series in 7. That was in 2017. The Ducks would make the playoffs in 2018.
