Oh, it was great. You know, it's uh I I've known Taylor since he was drafted by the Oilers way back when, when we were both children. Uh and it's um uh he's he uh in my mind has matured and become so much the player that I think a lot of people in Edmonton expected him to be. And and in so many ways I think you have to be happy on a personal basis that he was able to in his sixty

Yeah, that's definitely exciting. How's he been handling the off season? I'm always interested in in how those guys work that out.

Well, you know, the he he lives in cottage country north of Toronto in the off season. You know, he's probably got one of those, you know, rich cottages uh that uh that uh all the boys have, including Connor. Uh but he uh uh you know, he had his day with the cup and and enjoyed that and took it into the closest town that he lives to and um and and sh showed off exactly what uh what the Stanley Cup's all about and And and in talking to him, you know, it it really sounded he was down to business. You know, th that's last year, here's this year and the Carolina hurricanes are i intending to repeat.

This year is this year for the Edmonton Oilers. Uh speaking of Connor, Captain's list came out. Connor will wear the C again this season. That was a given. Nugent Hopkins and Dry Sidal Two. Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman both getting A's this season, and that's pretty exciting because they haven't had him before. Bouchard, you know, he's stepping up as that number one defenseman in Edmonton and uh Hyman he came in uh A pre package leader on and off the ice. I just want to get your thoughts on those two guys wearing letters.

Well, I mean Zack's been a leader wherever he is, whether it was, you know, playing minor hockey in suburban Toronto or at the University of Michigan, he grew into it. Um and i even in his time playing for Mike Babcock in Toronto, you could see that there was leadership tendencies. Uh Evan Bouchard's uh an evolution in my mind. Uh th there were times that um uh that you wondered if he had it in him and And I think his performance on the ice the last couple of years and certainly in those long playoffs, he has he's matured too, and has given uh given his team an opportunity to uh reward him uh by wearing the A. The fascination for me is Bouchard or Eckholm was the question for me, and uh the the long term nature of of
