Yeah, look, uh and I think you knew we were gonna do this, but we'd be remiss without discussing the passing of Cal Nichols. Uh you were the captain of the Emiton letters for a large amount of time during the time in which the Emonton Investors Group uh

How did the passing of Cal Nichols affect the Oil Kings organization?

Own the team and I know you had many dealings with Cal over the years.

Yeah, for sure. I mean, uh, obviously, uh it's uh the Cal passing on. Um he was uh you know, very instrumental in, you know, the culture uh around around the Oilers um in the locker room. Uh he was always very welcoming to a new player like myself when I came to town and then uh over the years when I was captain, uh So always looking out for, you know, the guys and and their families. I think uh there's a special gentleman and a big part of No, how how the oilers' culture is today is You know, the the blue collar and the and the hard work that he put in uh as a part of the investors group when uh when uh they were, you know, the owners of the team and, you know looking to continue to push the team to have success in Edmonton and and keeping it thriving for as long as they did.

Yeah. Uh there's no question. It's an a an impressive uh I mean i the the funny part about Cal is that, you know Um, somebody said to me recently that owning the orders was uh was a manifestation of his overall career, but it was not his sole identity, and um doubtily I'm gonna think we're gonna hear about more on that front. Uh coming up. All right. How did you guys end up doing in the preseason, Jason?

Jason Smith 3:20

Earning up uh three and one. I uh You know, I I think we we played uh you know, decent structurally hockey. I think we made some puck mistakes, but uh, you know, we got off to a pretty good start and You know, we're excited about uh the group we have. I think it's uh it's a completely different team than we we had the the previous year. Uh we're gonna be, you know, a little less skilled and a little more blue collar hockey and rely on uh good structure and system play and and uh good details to uh give us an opportunity to win as many games as we can.

Yeah, um I just you know, you you take a look at the squad and the one thing you do and you can give the name of the two goaltenders, but you do have some uh r returning guardians that should help your s your your team out and uh you know I'm referring to uh is it i uh are both s snell in s uh who are the goaltenders in the back

Ethan Ethan Simcoe and Parker Snell are both back from last year and uh you know I think that's they're gonna be a stabling force for our group and um we expect them to give us, you know, lots of opportunity to uh to be in games and win games.
