Why not, in this scene, if they're going to be brothers, have Matt Frewer adopt an English accent?

But to have him be the biological brother, it did not make much sense to me.
Anyway, they discuss the house out at Darkscore Lake.
Mike wrestles with the possibility of Joe having had an affair, which he sees as the only reason she could have been pregnant.
That night, he hears a scratching under his bed only to find a bloodied Joe being dragged into darkness, and he awakens and has a deep grief cry.
Two weeks later, we see that the house is a mess, and he's in the grips of a deep depression, and he's listening to the sound of her voicemail on repeat.
He gets a voicemail from Jason Priestley, who pressures him to pump out a new novel in a short window of time to meet the publisher's deadline.
Meanwhile, Mike keeps getting dream visions of the woods around Darkscore Lake and with each dream, it gets more involved, this time with a dream of a young girl in fear as the windows blow out.
He awakens to a call from the caretaker who explains that in real life, the windows have been blown out.
From beyond the grave, Joe tries to warm him, but he steps out of the room and he has missed a call from the afterlife.
We get a montage of Mike driving to Maine, and it's a nice little road trip sequence.
It's short, but we see the cities and the fields and the bridges and the farmland as he passes by until he arrives in the town, which looks quaint and idealistic.
He arrives at Sarah Laughs.
I don't know if it's called Sarah Laughs in the movie.
I don't recall it being referred to at all, so I apologize.
I'm just utilizing book terminology.
And he's greeted by Bill Dean, the caretaker, who expresses his condolences.
Mike settles in and explores the place, feeling Joe around him.
He's haunted here, but not by a literal ghost, the ghost of heartbreak and loss.
