So when Desperation comes out, I still have, which is 2006, we have moved past those limitations and we are now entering a time when we are...

in a world of prestige TV.

We are now post-Sopranos, post-Lost.

We are now being more ambitious with what we are doing in television, and there is more opportunity to be able to explore these things

with grace and maturity and seriousness.

And there are, you know, with something like Desperation, there are some moments that really shine.

And there's, you know, some things that drag it down.

But the strength of Desperation, I would say, is the length.

And if we had a two-hour movie or a 90-minute movie just on Bag of Bones, it would whittle away a lot of that fat.

Um, and it would allow us to be able to judge the execution, um, more clearly, but here there is just, there's just so much fat on the bone.

There's so much wheel spinning.

There's so much, um, I would just say treading water instead of actually moving in any direction.

And a movie about deep grief and sorrow, you can definitely tell a ghost story about that.

Clearly, Mike Flanagan has had a great track record at being able to do that.
