But when I think of our young people, I actually get a lot of hope.
Because our young people are incredibly intelligent, incredibly gifted.
They need opportunity and resource and they also need to be heard.
And our job is, you know, older people now is to make sure that we use today to make tomorrow's better.
And for me, you know, I can get on social media and I can get really down by, you know, politics or what's happening in the world at the moment.
But when I see a young person in a classroom, you know, this is your history too.
When we talk about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander science, this is your history too.
We come from the country's first people invented bread.
We're the oldest man-made structures on earth.
And this is something we should celebrate.
And when we celebrate stuff, we have to accept the bad things that have happened and learn from them.
But we also have a lot to celebrate.
And when I see young people in the classroom now, they're picking up first scientists.
You know, we've got young non-Indigenous women and boys picking up books.
And they're now seeing the lab coat as just a bit of PPE and not a barrier.
And that's really important.

Since I last came on the show, I went and got my, I have this methodology where I was going to master a skill that I've lost.
So I went back.
