And don't forget how effective Darnell and Connor Murphy were at the latter part of the year when Connor Murphy got here at the trade deadline.

And it really highlighted to me that Darnell's never really had a significant partner.

And I thought he and Connor Murphy, they traded the puck well and played really well.

I mean, he's going to be a bit like Nugent Hopkins.

We were pretty critical to Nugent Hopkins for a lot of years here until he's out of the lineup.

And then you realize...

what's missing when he's out of the lineup, and I think a lot of that will be true with Darnell.

I mean, the contract was always a pretty big issue, but they bridged him for two years.
