Well, you kind of you kind of made sure they made sure that I remember a friend of mine saying when after I was left the Oilers, I was talking to a very good friend of mine and he was I was telling him that, you know, I still cheer for the Oilers.
I mean, you call them we you call them we.
I still cheer, but after you get let go, it's hard to because it is a reflection of you.
And my friend looked at me and he said, I know you too well.
You're not cheering for the Oilers.
And he was kind of right.
When I left the Oilers, if they all of a sudden go on a tear like Vegas has gone on, I mean, it's pretty negative reflection of the job that I did.
Fortunately... It got worse.
Yeah.
It got much worse.
You said it was going to get better because you thought, you know, that it was going to be an improvement, but you were wrong again.
Mike Babcock, it could be an absolute home run for the Edmonton Oilers.
I mean, he's got a lot of great qualities.
I always thought that, you know, he was super sharp and...
I think the negative connotations about Mike is I coached against him was you know he always kind of had to be the smartest guy in their dressing room and most times he was there weren't a lot of guys that knew more about hockey than Mike Babcock and I think
He didn't suffer fools very well, and I think condescending comments to his players and being overly critical of the players were some of the things that I was hearing back in the day.
But, I mean, people evolve.
Give the guy a chance.
I mean, you look at John Tortorella.
He's sitting around a campfire with the Vegas Knights now singing Kumbaya every night.
