I would start by saying he is an impossibly good human being.
You hear so many compliments of players, executives, coaches when they're in a market.
You wonder, okay, how much of it's true?
What's the dirt behind the scenes?
You just can't uncover any with Shane.
He's just this incredible human being, and I think everybody who's worked with him, played with him, will tell you the same.
Then you meet his family, and you're like, okay, this is like for a movie.
They built these characters simply for a movie to exemplify what the perfect family looks like.
That's who he is as a human being.
I sent you guys a story if you want to bring that up at some point.
He never drinks.
He never swears.
He's devoted to his family.
But when he was with the Coyotes, he was also their captain for a very long time.
And what he did, you hear the word culture a lot, and I hate it, actually.
It's such a cliche in sports.
but Shane built a culture.
He brought everyone into the fold.
He supported everyone.
