Frankly, I just don't think this is a good way to go, because ultimately, this is our whole economic future.
We need to be able to regulate to tax in the way we that we should.
I also think it's actually unwise for the big tech companies to encourage the US administration in this direction, because the ultimate consequence will be that these countries say, well, no.
No, we just can't use US models if that's going to be the consequence of doing so.
We're not we're gonna give up access to US market if we have to.
We're gonna use Chinese models or we're gonna make our own.
So it's actually I think in the big tech companies' interests to recognise that countries need to regulate and to tax as as they see fit.
No, I don't think we have to choose in a sense because ultimately for for AI to be a success in the long term, it needs to be applied in the vast mass of the global economy.
And that means in Europe, in other advanced economies, in the emerging world.
So there is the ability to say actually if you're going to use AI in our economy, it needs to be done in the way that we we we want it to be done.
I think it's in these countries' interests to have competence.
Between the US and China.
I mean, the the issue around open weights is it does enable you, even advanced economies, to use Chinese models, and some Western firms are using them in a way that is supposedly safe.
Now I'm not the expert to know for sure because I know open weights doesn't mean you're revealing everything, but I mean that is a crucial element.
If I could just add one thing on your your question around the work that Alex and and I were doing on, for example, particularly financial.
Financial regulation and the relevance to regulation of this kind of new phenomenon.
I think the really important thing is it's not the same.
So the digital economy is not the same as the financial sector.
But there are things that financial regulators have learned about, systemic risk, moral hazard, things of that kind that do apply in the digital sector.
And they have, you know, hundreds of years of experience, central banks in particular, and how to
