So I think the government has to think about not just, you know, where it's going to put its research and development, which we're very good at.

that, but also which strategic stakes it's going to to take and how it's going to ensure, if you like, that the the capabilities remain in the UK and and most directly benefit the UK over time.

I have to say I I take a somewhat different view.

And by we I'm talking about European Union, other advanced economies like the UK, the emerging world.

In a way, we should set our own regulation standards and say, if you want to operate in our economies, this is what you have to do.

And if you if you're not prepared to do that, if you are the US, then we'll use Chinese models or we'll develop our own models.

So I I really do think we have agents

We don't have to follow.

And indeed, you know, we w we certainly would not want to follow the US model to the extent that it started with minimal regulation, nor necessarily the Chinese model which, you know, as Alex has set out is designed with a particular purpose about uh political control.

No, but it's not you know we have a massive but we have a massive market to which AI has to be applied.

We have most of the world's GDP.

You know, the US has let's say twenty five percent, China has sixteen to eighteen percent, the rest of the year.

I'm talking about the EU, other advanced economies and many of the emerging economies, all of which have a shared interest in this.

Just on your other point of w you know, what should leaders say to the to their public?

I mean I would start by reading the I mean internally, reading the Pope's encyclical

He has a very good way of saying to the world in as a whole, yes, AI can be very beneficial to economy, but there are certain things that we are going to ensure that the interests of the human being have primacy in this.

And uh you know, it it's just an example of something that came out, you know, a couple of months or so ago.
