So, you know that new TV show that's been out for a few years now, The Rings of Power, on Amazon, right?
That's their adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, all that Tolkien lore and so on.
You compare the actors that you see on that, they're all very soft, very amiable.
They look like they just want to wear a nice cosy jumper and have a cup of cocoa.
Compare that with the Lord of the Rings from 25 years ago.
You had guys like Viggo Mortensen, Sean Bean.
Those guys looked like you could just dump them in the wilderness and they would survive no problem.
They had a different upbringing, different experiences, but it molded into much more interesting people, not just in their performances, but how they look, how they carry themselves, the confidence they have.
And we're just kind of losing that, I think, now in cinema.

So basically what you're saying is you want to see actors suffer more.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, you know, I've done many videos about, like, movies that have had difficult productions, whether, you know, it was actors, directors clashing with each other, whatever it might be.
And sometimes it results in...
great art or great movies.
Like, you know, James Cameron is a notoriously hard-driving director.
Stanley Kubrick, obviously.
Other times, you end up with complete garbage at the end of it, like The Island of Dr. Moreau.
So, obviously, there needs to be talent behind it all.
