Goalies, we are on an island.
We're like pitchers or quarterbacks.
We're less like quarterbacks, but we're definitely on an island.
We have a job to do, and our job is to stop the puck and make sure our defense don't get hurt, make sure we play it well.
So you have a job to do.
You're a little bit of an outsider, of course.
You're not on the bench ever talking to the players or rehearsing plays or be here or be there.
We have one job to do, and that's stop the puck and give our team a chance to win.
So...
You take it all in, and Binner can have a little relaxation, maybe a little bit, and watch how a lot of the best players in the world handle the intense pressure of playing for your country.
So he gets a little reprieve here, so he can enjoy it.
He played great.
But goalies are a different breed.
It's about focus.
It's about...
what your job is at hand, and who you need to stop on the other team.
Yeah, definitely, O-Dog.
I'm telling you, you're in those locker rooms with the greatest players.
And the way they walk around under intense pressure and joke around with guys in high-pressure situations, you're like, wow, this is a walk in the park for these guys.
And it just goes to show you how many times they've been in those pressure positions and how they handle it.
