And I think when it comes to getting feedback on a piece of writing
I do think as we've just said the human element is important and that's why we want this this audio.
So but I think the other countervailing force that is very important not just for schools but also for kids as well.
They really care about this is speed.
So I remember being a secondary English teacher and the thing that would frustrate me the most is a kid would hand in their essay a week late
They'd hand it in in the morning, you know, period one, and then they'd come and knock on my the staff room door at the end of the day and they say, Miss, have you marked it yet?
Right.
So, you know, they've handed it in a week late and they want it turned round like in a in a day.
Um and even students who are like not that academic or particularly like concerned about their work, they wanted their results back straight away.
They wanted to know like what have I got?
And you would anyone will know if they've worked, you know, assessing writing, being an English teacher.
Like it's really hard to turn stuff around quickly.
It is also really valuable.
Like it you know, all the research shows the quicker you get the feedback, the more valuable it is.
Um and there were times, you know, every teacher will say there's times when you just can't get it around that quickly and it does take you like a week or ten days to turn around if you've got loads to do.
And actually like the value then of that feedback, it is just weaker.
Right.
The best feedback I gave was when I was able to mark something overnight, come back the next lesson, like do a lesson on it, and then it's fresh in the kid's head.
