um, you know, the way that we encode, um, you know, encode memories, uh the way that you take notes with handwriting, that that hold true for adults as well as students.
So I wouldn't want to lose reading and writing on paper.
I think they're really important.
And what I think we should be using the AI to do is to support that, not replace it.
No, I totally agree with that.
And the way we've set it up, as I say, with this ten percent element, that might not sound much, but because of the way we work with multiple judgments, if you do that, every piece of writing will be seen twice by a human.
Um we've got a case study coming out shortly with one of my favourite ones so far.
It's a y I think a year nine teacher and she was doing it for a piece they'd um yeah, it was a a sort of piece of I think it was sort of non fiction, but it was a piece they'd worked on and it was about again, it was something to do with pets, it was about animals.
And y you know, she had taught the class that unit and wanted to know their responses.
And the great thing about talking to her is that she had had still been able to engage with every piece of writing.
And had been able to, you know, then respond and follow up.
And there were some really funny kind of bits in these pieces of writing which she wouldn't have wanted to have missed.
Um and actually when we're getting people to do the audio feedback, I always say, like, pick out
interesting bits, like be specific.
Don't just say, oh, the spelling's not good enough or you need to improve your sentence structure.
Like pick out and say, this was an amazing metaphor where you, you know, compared the this to diamonds or whatever.
You know, pick out the specifics because that's what you bring as a human and that's what we want, you know, you want to have the students feeling like they've they've you've read their work and engaged with it.
No, and we we think about this a lot too and when we've written about it.
Um so I would say when it comes to giving the the written feedback to a student.
Uh we talk to students and parents about this.
