Well, this is it and there has to be some realism about this.
And again, like we talk a lot to students and parents and they do see the big advantage of the AI as being speed.
Like they do appreciate that.
I think they do also like they talk a lot, you know, people will talk about like the personalisation and having the student the teacher know you and and I think everything you said, Emma, is true.
But I think there also has to be you have to be aware that when a teacher has got, say, sixty mocks to mark over a weekend
that actually the element of personalisation going into that is not as great as people think.
Like when you have got sixty marks to mark over a weekend, and I know I've done this, you are defaulting to a set of like patterned responses.
Like you are not actually responding in a super hyper personalised way to every student.
It's not possible.
So I think, you know, we need to be coming up with some sensible mo middle ground here and we need to be you know, this is what I'm saying, we need to be like
you know, recognising the truth on all these sides.
Like, yes, it is important that teachers engage with student writing and the students feel their work is read.
It is also the case that there is a massive workload issue and that if we can get feedback back pick quicker to kids, that is of value too.
So what I think we need to be evolving and what senior teams need to be thinking about is like maybe not just thinking about this as one off moments in time, but over the course of a year.
over the course of a year, how many pieces of writing are we expecting students to do?
Um, how quickly can we turn that feedback round?
Um, what is the best blend of human and AI across the board?
So, you know, another example, things I've talked about with parents and students is like what if, you know, it is now possible you have an extra there's an extra two opportunities for you to have an exam practice in the run up to exams and have them turn round like overnight.
uh you know, which are in addition to what was happening anyway.
If that was done with AI, like is that a bad thing?
