So I think we need to be looking at this across a year, you know, across a system, and be saying we do need opportunities where a teacher does need to be engaging with a kid's writing.
We probably do need to be reducing like the element of writing out by hand.
Like for the teacher.
Like that is adding a lot of time.
We can probably save with some audio.
Um, you know, what do we need?
What is the right balance across a year?
Um that's that's where I think people need to be thinking about and they need to be using the technology to come up with something that is right for their context.
We uh a few years back we did quite a bit on multiple choice questions.
Um and we had a paper-based system for assessing those.
We've still got that, but we've sort of paused a lot of the work on that because the the AI writing took over.
Um the biggest new thing we're working on is a system that is completely optimized for GCSE mocks.
So we know from the work we've done over the last ten years that everything I've just been saying, like G C S E mocks are a major what you were saying, Tom, there about when you were marking RE.
GCSE mocks are a major, major workload issue.
Um
I also think it's you know, there is a I think there probably some schools who overdo them, but I think there's some who don't and it's still a workload issue.
So in English, the the real challenge is you've got Lang and Lit.
So you have one teacher who's teaching your kids y you know, language and literature.
Each exam has two papers.
