She broke her jaw and her teeth and had to have a plate and everything put in her jaw and she was in terrible, terrible pain in hospital and I think that's where the taking the drugs stemmed from and of course then she got terrible arthritis and

It was awfully sad.

But he said everybody thought she was a sad person and had this terrible life.

And of course she did start from very lowly beginnings and it was difficult.

But through her fame and everything and her success, he says she was one of the happiest people.

And the thing he remembered most about her...

Whenever they parted company at all, he said they would always part on a laugh, a joke and a laugh.
