So the eldest one, Sean and I, very much at 80, we were the first to go off to university.

He went off to be an engineer, tried to be an engineer.

I went off to study theology and philosophy.

But the two, at that point, I think my parents, my mother was just in her 40s and I think the early life caught up with her a bit.

So she sort of went through a difficult time

I think they moved, her solution was always to move.

So I think she'd had the you know the large family you had so many children and you are sort of looking after them and she was excellent as a mother I mean she was she was superb and

But I think she probably came to a point where she had to face those first seven years.

And there were some very, very difficult things in those first seven years.

And I think perhaps the marriage had been a bit tricky because he had worked away a lot.

And although everything was smooth on the surface, things were perhaps a bit more difficult.

So she'd hoped to sort of make a new start, move to Sheffield.

No, with him, with the two younger brothers.

I'd gone to university at this point.

In fact, my grandmother gave me 100 quid and said, never come back.

She was very Hungarian.

I think it was just... You're on your own now.

No, I think that there was a sense in working class families often where you were on your own, like 18, you were on your own.

And that was far more normal then.
