Schools, the institutions, although we often criticise them, actually in terms of some of that old wisdom about family, school, how we bring children up, how you can be happy, it's really, really important.
oh no it was definitely my husband so although there was plenty of childhood sort of you know we were we all grew up together it was lovely but they were that was just kids kids play but I met my husband the first week I was at university and he this man walked into the room and I was not I mean I was there for the life of the mind I was not at all interested in this tall dark with
dark hair and in a leather jacket walked into the room and everybody went quiet and i just looked and i thought that's him that's the man i'm gonna marry wow and before you'd even spoken he thinks this is completely bonkers so um so yeah and and anyway it turned out he was older than you yep 10 years older than me
So he had just left the Jesuits.
And that's why everybody went quiet.
And he'd come back to finish his final year of his degree.
He'd been in for four years.
He was going to be a Jesuit priest.
And he made the decision that he was not going to do that and left.
So I met him that day I saw him.
He'd left.
He'd signed the papers.
He was exeunt.
In Catholicism, you're in or you're out.
So I think that was his challenge.
