And we basically asked them, what do they need to thrive following lockdown?
What do they want for their futures?
So that hearing from children, which is always unusual and remarkable and surprising...
Really creating policy and taking those voices to Parliament and making sure the government acts on those.
That's been the big achievement, the unique achievement.
So I talk about under 18s because that is the legal framing of it in the Children's Act.
So under 18s.
And so often I will use the word teenager rather than just child.
And the problems are very different, you know, for a five-year-old, for a 17-year-old.
But I think there is something we really need to be consistent about and protect there.
And not every service does.
In the NHS, you know, often 16 is the cutoff point.
But I am really clear, especially nowadays.
I mean, I'm a mother myself.
of a 30 year old and they don't just you know walk out the door at 16 fully formed we need to sort of think about children for the whole span to 18 you are a mother you've been a child you've been a head teacher you've been a teacher and you've listened to the voices of literally millions of children what is the big ask what are they wanting
Their number one ambition was great job, great job, great future.
They wanted support at school.
They wanted to get back to school.
You wouldn't think that from the attendance figures.
