And that's why what the Republicans are doing by completely abdicating their oversight role is so inexcusable and so aggravating.
it is the well i think from the take from the broader point because you've also got all this partisan gerrymandering you have all these redistricting efforts you have all these vote suppression efforts and then this is the kicker as you said this is absolutely inexcusable because it is going to whatever you want to say the intent is this or that it is going to dramatically reduce
representation mostly by black people, but by minorities in general.
Yeah.
And so what you're going to have is, you know, 12, 15% of the entire country, but a third of some of these southern states are black and there's not going to be any black representation.
And what so many people fought for in the 60s was equal representation.
That doesn't just mean equal access to the ballot.
There has to be meaningful representation.
Otherwise, you are just part of a permanent minority that has no say in what the laws of this country are.
And what the Supreme Court said is they turned this blind eye to this irrational thing that you have to demonstrate
intentional discrimination, almost like you and I have to be talking and we're doing the redistricting.
I'm like, Hey, Don, let's cut out all the black representatives.
Yeah.
Like if you don't have that, it's almost as if you can't prove it.
But what I say in response is, look at what's happened since that decision was handed down a couple weeks ago.
They moved really fast, too.
Really fast.
They stopped some of the ongoing elections so that they could redistrict and that they could remove black representatives from Congress.
Now, tell me something.
What more intentional discrimination do you need than to say immediately after they were allowed to, they couldn't even wait for the election to finish that had already started before they wanted to change the maps so that they could gerrymander around and get rid of black representation in Congress.
