You might not feel like it's a big deal to say that, but I think it's actually a big deal to say it in public because a lot of people watching this may feel that they're dysfunctional because they have anxiety or depression.
And I think just talking about it openly is a real service because it normalizes it for people.
But there are two things in what you said that to me really struck me.
One is, I think for me, I'm not a clinician, but I've done dozens and dozens of interviews on my show on these issues.
Using medication as a bridge to help you during a tough time and then going off of it once you've handled those issues, that to me feels really healthy.
I'm not saying nobody should ever be on these medications in an abiding form, but I really appreciate the use case that you laid out.
The second thing you said that I... Well, hold on one minute.
Correct.
A thousand percent.
A thousand percent.
The second thing was that I was talking earlier about inauthenticity.
to TV animals here.
You talked before, I was saying earlier that there is this pain that can come from pretending you're this but knowing you're this and that difference.
And you talked earlier about how you felt like you always had a low-grade depression because you're
gay in a community that may have had, may have felt some kind of way about that.
No, it's your story.
It's more interesting than what I have to say, but I can only imagine that that would be a lot to carry.
Yeah, I do think so.
Yeah, absolutely.
I was talking to this woman, Susan Cain, recently, who wrote a very popular book about introverts called Quiet.
