So uh you know, and and obviously there were people running around saying, Oh, you're fascists, you're you're racists, you're all that sort of stuff, and that stuff was just bouncing off.
The problem is, the reality is they've played into their opponent's hands.
And so what's happened is, as I said, you know, I was speaking to
people at the time who were talking me through that the next stage of reform strategy was to broaden and mainstream their message.
What happened was there was obviously then the split with with Rupert Lowe and the establishment of Restore.
And, you know, I I used exactly we we we literally saw it this weekend.
We literally saw it.
Nigel Farage came out with a very, very clear clear
Position on the demonstrators, disgusting, etc.
Rupert Lowe says, no, actually I'm putting my arm around him, suddenly Nigel Ferrar shifts his position and reforms shift b shift their position.
And what they're doing now is, rather than pursue that strategy of of reaching out and mainstream streaming their messages, which I think could potentially have been successful and could potentially be successful in the future, they're basically chasing after a store.
Yeah, that's kinda what they're trying to do, but they're doing it from a they're doing it from a much lower base.
Yeah.
Because the point is, the reality is
Labour's vote share in the polls is probably slightly underestimating where where where Labour are at the moment because there are people who say no vote green and the demo or whatever who won't he'll come ill come back.
But equally the the the polls are overestimating reforms support because obviously whenever you have a party of protest who position themselves as uh you know with the anti-establishment people, obviously when people are asked by a pollster who you're gonna vote for, it's very easy to say reform.
But then when it comes to a general election, when you're actually form you know, you're actually voting for a government, as we've seen with all parties of all persuasions who are minority parties, their support then then gets s squeezed.
Yeah.
No, because I think the p the whole point about reforms brand, and also, you know, we're in a different we're in a different space now in the year of populism.
You know, my my experience of reform supporters is that, you know, people who who support reform aren't aren't in any way ashamed or nervous about it.
