Neither you nor I think that is a good idea.
We both think that it's actually a mistake that will have grave long-term consequences.

Like you said, in this guess, you're another way.
But what we want to do is be intellectually consistent.
If they're making an argument that you don't think it holds water, is not consistent, then you can't just let it go.
You have to challenge it and you have to get to the crux of it.
Otherwise, it's going to be fundamentally unsatisfying for everybody involved.
Because that's actually how you get to resolve issues.

You make a very good point when it comes to the banking crisis, 2008.
Of course that's contributed to populism.
Practically, I'm sure there wouldn't be one person actually who would disagree with that.
And of course social media has contributed to populism.
