I think it was so strange.
The choices were really strange.
It wasn't a fast-paced show.
You have to kind of sit back and get into it.
And also, so much of the show is foundation-laying.
So that first season is ultimately setting up who these people were in order for us to earn who they become.

I felt so grateful to like be able to tell a story because part of it, part of why I think people love Schitt's Creek is you earn the emotional turns.
