And there's a little bit of concern.
That's why with those motions that you mentioned, there is talk of compensation.
The state almost compensating the FEI for these penalties, which is what they're really concerned about.
It would probably be pro rata.
I'm actually not sure how it would be calculated based on the number of games you have.
That is a substantial figure that they receive from UEFA.
I'm actually not sure what the current updated number is.
But in the past, it would have been a main revenue driver for the association.
When all the stuff was happening with the Vantage Club and all of that, they would have been trying to advance some of that money
to give them, to sort of keep the show on the road somewhat.
So I did see the Simon Harris clip.
I haven't seen the full interview for context, but I saw some of the clips going around.
I do think a lot of the government stuff on this has been pretty pathetic because like,
As much as the government stance now appears to be that this is on the FEI to decide, we've had Patrick O'Donovan commenting on this a couple of months back around the time of the draw.
And the FEI actually, when explaining why they were going to proceed with the game, they were actually leaning heavily on their interactions with government.
And government are now saying, well, it's actually nothing to do with us, it's over to you, FEI.
while you know and the ministers then like we're actually not going to go like it's actually been unbelievable stuff and but like so unbelievably predictable as well if you sort of you know if you if you analyze what was likely to happen and this is possibly where my confidence was that this game could never take place in Dublin because in the moment everyone was saying the GardaΓ is like this is fine the government was saying of course um but
But obviously as the reality of it gets closer and the protests happen against Qatar and just things aren't changing and it's obvious then that people start saying, oh, hang on, do we really want to be associated with this game in Dublin?
And now the FAI are probably... And this is the failure of the FAI, really, that...
they just weren't strong enough early and were happy to almost delegate responsibility for this to the advice of other people.
