So you moved out of the family home after your mum had remarried and you got some stepbrothers and sisters.
You moved out with a friend when you were still a teenager.
Tell me about the place and the scene you moved into in Adelaide.
My family home at that point was pretty stable, so I can't say I moved out of a dangerous home, but I moved into one.
That's for sure.
Me and my friend, we were 16, 17 years old in a very small council house that we were paying $50 a week.
And I just had freedom for the first time in my entire life.
I had turntables.
I had a love of writing songs, of making music, of playing music.
And I had nobody to tell me to turn it down.
I had no doors to close.
