Maybe the Jays or some other teams in similar positions don't get as big a bump.

But in the Jays' situation, simply because I don't think they have as many seasons with this core ahead of them as some of the other contenders do, I think that still makes it a reason to push.

Even if you might not get the same game as, say, the Mets would by adding a starter.

It does make it tougher.

I think back about the Angels for a long time.

They never actually took advantage of it, but they had Shohei Itani and Mike Trout and a lot of rather poor players, which should make it easier to upgrade because an average player would upgrade the Angels in most of those seasons.

They didn't figure that out because that's what the Angels did, but the reality is there.

I do think that the Blue Jays could stand to add a bat in the outfield and some depth in the bullpen.

Uh, I, I don't like their kind of the second tier of their bullpen anywhere near as much as like the front end guys.

And I think they could use a bad because there are some questions there.

Uh, and they, they've gotten some guys, a lot of plate appearances this year that I think they would have preferred not to out there.

I think they do have, I mean, they couldn't go out there and trade Paul Skeet for Paul Skeet if he had somehow became available, which he isn't.

I think that would require some prospectage that's significantly deeper.

But when you're talking about rentals, teams don't generally trade top 100 prospects for two months of a guy in most cases.

You go back and look at transactions 30 years ago, that wasn't necessarily the case.

Teams would really just trade a lot of dudes for someone.

And their trades made even in the 90s, I don't think would ever be made today.

So I think that the Jays do have currency to spend.
