And the Yankees weren't in a situation where you could sit back and say, you know,

We're just going to wait for Judge and Stanton and Bellinger to be healthy because that day might not never come.

It never does seem to come for Stanton, and the timeline for Judge keeps getting pushed back.

The Red Sox, they added Adley Rutschman, which is a pretty big addition, and they didn't necessarily need to add any pitching, but they're now thinking about playoffs in that point where they don't have a ton of lefties in that pen.

So they snuck up a little on the Rays,

but the Rays have the advantage of having the lead, and that's a pretty good thing to have.

Yeah, he's not likely to have immediate success in the majors.

He might have some, and he's not going to be terrible or anything.

But you are looking at a situation where you don't say, he's not going to come in and be Derek Jeter.

That's simply not going to happen.

He's a very walk-heavy player in the minors, which doesn't necessarily translate instantly in the majors, although...

What he does do is he's a better defensive player than probably any option they have at shortstop right now.

He's fast.

He's disruptive.

He doesn't need to really be a star instantly.

I think the Yankees just want someone who can feel the position, maybe be a situational player in a playoff game, you know.

stolen bases are a bigger part of the game for the last few years simply because of the rule changes, and he's someone who can really kind of force that.

So I do like the call-up.

I think the teams should challenge their best prospects rather than let them languish.

I mean, he's slugging 500 in AAA.
