And so they just churn through absolutely all of them and they send the exact same malware sample to 4.6 billion email addresses.
And so it becomes, it's really loud and it's really dumb and it's really noisy and it is the opposite of covert.
And what happens is that payload, if it's a fresh payload, it gets instantly fingerprinted, it gets instantly run through hashing algorithms, it shows up in virus total within an hour, and it becomes trivially easy to look at that file and be like, oh, that file.
is the file name is different, but the the data is it matches the MD5.
The data.
That is a common thing in the red team space now where you have a piece of software like Sliver, for example.
Sliver as a C2 framework will actually generate a fresh file for you every time you ask it for a payload.
You say, generate the payload, I want it to phone home via HTTPS, I need it to phone home to this IP address on this port, I want it to be a beacon and not have a constant connection, and I need it to phone home every 20 seconds, and then I need it to I need it.
And you run it through this obfuscator like Shicotta Nine or Play.
Wait, are are you saying there's a piece of software
Are you thinking about it?

It's funny you call them malware factories, that is exactly what they are.
The term that we use in the red team space is command and control or C two.
There are a h multitude of C2s.
Metasploit is the biggest most well known one.
In addition to Metasploit, there's Sliver, Merlin, Moloch, Mythic, Empire.
