And so you'll get fucking stalagmites out of metal going across the electrolyte to try to.

And so if the material is pliable enough or has enough heat or there's just enough the battery is old enough, you'll get like literally hairs that grow out of the cathode, I think.

But out of one of them anyway.
Then they're called dendrites.
And if you zoom in on them with a microscope, they're little tiny stalagmites made of metal.
And it's a bigger problem not in lead acid batteries, but in lipos and things like that, like cell phone batteries.
One of the reasons that laptop batteries will just fucking explode or catch fire sometimes is because the distance between the cathode and the anode is next to nothing.
Because basically what they'll do is they'll have a sheet of copper and a sheet of zinc or what have you.
They'll put the electrolyte, the lithium, whatever, in the middle, and they'll fucking fold it up like a pop tart.
And it'll be this little rectangular flat thing.
And so the space between these folds is millimeters and sometimes less.
And so as the dendrites form, they'll create a short in the battery.
And when that happens, you get all the damper and all the bullshit inside that all the juice.
If it's a fully charged battery, and the minute that happens, it goes nuclear, and you get what's called thermal runaway and the lithium can
just fire and your fucking phone explodes.
And so in my head, the way that this works is it's this Mobius strip with dendrites sticking out of it in every direction.
And so you have the people that lie about their professional experience, the people that fake a resume, the people that are getting Chad GPT to squirt out resumes that look fantastic so that they can go lie about their jobs on LinkedIn.
