A White House official today told NPR that Allen's brother, shortly before last night's shooting, notified law enforcement about a piece of writing Allen had composed and sent to his family members.

Speaking in the Oval Office, the president touted the drug's effectiveness in studies on military and veteran populations.
Currently, psilocybin and ibogaine are listed as Schedule I drugs, meaning they have no accepted medical uses and a high potential for abuse.
Trump said the order would expedite the rescheduling of those drugs if they are FDA-approved.
