And you have to have levels of trust and be on the same page and communicate well.
You add a family dynamic to that and it gets it can get hairy quick.

In family business, it is so important to treat people the way that they they are.
And so, uh, as a salesperson, I always paid the same sales structure, I didn't get any special privileges.
That'd be inappropriate for me to have any special bonus or opportunity that other sales team members didn't have.
Yeah.
A, it would make them resent me, and B, it would rob me of an opportunity, it would rob me of a natural struggle for me to grow.
Like we only grow, we only get
better by actually fighting through and overcoming obstacles.
And the learning experience we get there is a rich thing that I would have been robbed had I just come in without earning it.
Yeah.
And I would be not equipped to do my job today had I not worked throughout the company in the various roles.
Uh and what's great about that is unintended consequences, I have more recently been close to the front lines of our team than a lot of our leaders around
in the organization.
And so I have more recent hands-on knowledge uh and I gotta protect against that ivory tower experience that leaders have.
Like I have to stay close to the team.
But that's hard to do when you're not day-to-day sitting with them doing that stuff.
And so I have to make an effort to do that.
