Yeah, so right now we're kind of seeing a kind of tale of two worlds.
If I'm reviewing a grain deal in the Midwest, we're seeing pretty tight liquidity, if not negative working capital.
A lot of...
A lot of farmers are trying to term some of that over carry from last year out to improve their liquidity.
And then on the other side, on the protein sector, we're seeing pretty strong balance sheets.
Cattle market's good.
Hogs are doing well right now.
Hogs and chickens, they're kind of getting some of that demand from the beef industry because beef's so high right now.
So you're seeing that kind of carry through to other protein sectors as well.
Yeah, so right now in the grain industry, prices are still low and inputs are still high.
So even if you're having really good yields and record yields, you're really not getting above your break-even cost just because prices are still pretty stagnant and input costs are staying pretty high.
for your customers just depends on the uh the producer you know some farmers were seeing a mix of you know 50 50 or could it be all all crop or all beef it really just depends on the the geographical area yeah i would say we're probably 70 crop and maybe 30 in the protein sector yeah that'd be a pretty close estimate how's this compared to this time last year
I think from what my team, so my team is kind of the ones out in the field meeting with folks and putting together the balance sheets before it goes over to Ethan.
And we're just seeing a lot more challenges.
There's farmers that had some losses maybe in 24 and even in 25.
And so they're sitting down right now with their accountants and their consultants and just trying to figure out how are we going to raise enough capital to get that next crop out for 26?
What steps do we need to take?
what types of things that we can trim out of our operation.
We're seeing some folks sell some excess equipment.
That seems to be a pretty common theme right now.
