This has undeniable impact.

I think especially because this inflation spike has been so broad.

What should we expect?
We're dealing with these changes.
They are very much seeming to be shaped in front of us.
It will be fascinating to see where they land, particularly with start-ups, particularly with small businesses.
to try and invigorate that sector, which I keep reminding people was the original intention of the capital gains discount in the first place.
They didn't want everyone to pour their money into investor housing, but that is what happened.
We don't often get into really deep discussions of our tax system, but there's been a lot of noise about these changes, partly because they were kind of not mooted, even though I'd say with CGT, the capital gains tax discount, there's been kind of a year of backgrounding in the papers.
You could see this one kind of coming.
Do you think all of the volume here from different interest groups has been about trying to get a special pleading, trying to change the shape of how these things end up?
