Curious to hear from John Schneider, well, what's the status of Nathan Lucas?
Because obviously they're going to have not just the Springer decision, but they're going to have a few different decisions that are going to need to be made here in due time when it comes to the roster.
I, in the moment, I personally didn't mind seeing Eloy Jimenez step up to the plate and get an opportunity in that spot.
I would guess so.
This is just my guess without looking at the numbers.
I bet you, you know, just because everything is cacified, there's some notebook down there that would have said, hey, historically in his career, Eloy Jimenez does a good job of lifting the ball.
Maybe it's not happening right now.
And I would certainly not push back on that notion whatsoever.
He's you mentioned it.
A lot of the hits have been, hey, seeing I single here, finding holes.
It's nothing that's really been in the air, which doesn't inspire a ton of confidence at this point.
But I think the notion is historically the strength of this guy is he puts the ball in the air and he does have power.
So in that particular spot, I get the logic.
But I can also understand those that are saying, hey, you know what, you got your first two aboard to kick off the bottom of the ninth against the opposing closer.
Why not put yourself in a more advantageous position where you can avoid a double play?
And that's precisely what happened.
And obviously at that point, OK, pretty much game over.
So I get it.
But I can also see from the perspective of John Schneider why they opted to go
that particular route and i would imagine there is some sort of statistical measuring stick some piece of evidence out there that was telling them hey aloy jimenez has a history of this is what he does well that's my best guess i'm just hypothesizing that's my best guess show
