Miranda was also exceptionally close because through a couple of rebellious years of her teenagehood, we eventually just shipped her up to live with my parents.

They were in Toronto in Canada and she went to school there.

So they became very, very close.

And so when we were sort of getting the last messages, Miranda came in and he looked at her and he said, I'll see you down there.

And she reeled and then started to laugh hysterically.

And then she came and sat on his bedside and he held her and he said, I couldn't have loved you more.

She did die on his birthday, yes.

And in some ways we hope that he was maybe there to catch her.

Before this, I might have said, yeah, sure.

I now...

really believe in signs because there are things that happen that are so connected to them and yet completely inexplicable.

I often talk to her and I imagine what she would say, but there have been times at critical moments

It's like her voice has landed in my head and said something that I wouldn't have expected her to say.

And actually, one of them relates to this book.

I've been very torn about, you know, promoting it.

It's a weird thing to have to keep going out and talking about again and again and repeating the fact that she's dead again and again.
