It was the only thing I found helpful, not least because I couldn't get any other help of any kind because every time I reached out to a grief specialist or grief institution, they were like, yes, we can see you in 18 months.
And I'm feeling, no, I want to actually kill myself right now.
And I don't know where I'm going to be 18 months from now, but it's very, very hard to get therapeutic help
quickly when you need it, unless you check yourself into a hospital and say, I'm going to commit suicide.
And what was that going to do?
That wasn't going to help me.
I suddenly understood.
And this feels like a terrible thing, again, to say as a mother and a wife.
But for the first time, I understood that pain could be more powerful
That death could offer this retreat from the pain and I could go into the ground with Miranda and be with her.
And then your brain starts, yeah, David will be fine.
The kids will be fine, but I can't keep living.
And it's that bad.
at least three months.
