The really important thing for people to understand that great generals
Great generals don't do everything, okay.
Great generals delegate and they're happy to delegate and they're happy to have great managers underneath them, okay, who can take companies forward.
They're like the umbrella.
So, yeah, just watch out for autocrats and kind of dictatorish type of CEOs because it's not always the best working environment.
I think the most important thing, and I think you've got a point coming up about selling shares, it really depends because people get sick or something happens in a family.
So you really need to differentiate if it really is a personal reason that they've had to leave or whether or not.
it's a sign of dissension.
And a sign of dissension or a disagreement could be a sign that the business is not going well somewhere along the way.
And we get into that blame game situation where multiple, you know, CEOs are blamed.
I mean, you're just constantly seeing it with AMP.
It's, you know, the poor company has been a sinking ship for years and everybody that comes in tries to stick another Band-Aid over it, but it just keeps on...
Yeah, and it's very hard once you get, let's take Magellan because Magellan's quite a good example in terms of obviously Hamish Douglas was such a big figure.
The founders were such big figures.
They were very strong personalities.
They really, Hamish had a, you know, almost a glow, an aura about him.
He had contacts with Jell and Yellen, et cetera, et cetera.
But when the tide turned, so the markets turned and then he had some own issues and suddenly it's like, whoa, you've got to go, mate.
And obviously I can't imagine what it's like working inside of that company when you have all your employees
literally dirty laundry being put out in the media, how you feel about that when you work there.
