That she was not allowed to leave in case anyone saw her pregnant belly. podcast-host

So this pregnancy, it's still progressing. podcast-host

And by the time that girl A gets to the third trimester, still nobody knows that she is pregnant outside of the immediate family. podcast-host

And this is now when this pregnancy starts to become incredibly dangerous for girl A. Because a 10-year-old's body, she may be 11 years old now, but 10, 11, doesn't really matter. podcast-host

But her body is not designed to handle pregnancy and then labor and delivery. podcast-host

And I actually did some research into this and I found a few articles talking specifically about like 10 year olds being pregnant. podcast-host

And there's part of me that wishes that I never even found these articles, but it's the harsh reality of the world. podcast-host

And it's just absolutely horrific. podcast-host

Because first of all, one of the main risks to such a young child being pregnant is the mental risks. podcast-host

Their brains are literally not developed enough to handle all of this trauma. podcast-host

They don't have the life experience to process any of this. podcast-host

And also in pregnancy, the placenta is obviously there. podcast-host

It is designed to take nutrients from the mother and pass it on to the baby. podcast-host

And an adult body is designed to handle this. podcast-host

But for such a young child, that is definitely not the case because they are still growing rapidly themselves. podcast-host
