Would it say, fine, we did okay today?
Or would it say something harder, more challenging?
That voice is data.
So if you had an ordinary day, what would the voice inside your head say by that evening?
And one final one, what would it mean to let today just be enough?
Not a trick to lower your standards, but as a genuine question, what would have to be true for enough to actually feel like enough?
Here's what I want to leave with you today.
This pattern that we've been talking about, the one where purpose becomes an audit system, where identity and work fuse, where almost there becomes a permanent state.
Y'all, this isn't a character flaw.
It is not what happens to people who lack self-awareness or doing the wrong work.
If anything, this happens to people who are doing the right work and caring about it deeply and building something real.
The goal isn't to care less.
The goal isn't to detach from your work or lower your standards or stop wanting things that you want.
The goal is to learn the difference between purpose that fuels you and purpose that audits you and to build back some of those edges, the in and the out, so that the work has a container and you have a self outside of it.
Next episode, I want to talk about something that might sound a little bit like the opposite problem.
It's for women who have heard the advice, followed it, and found the purpose they were looking for, hit every mark that they set, and then stood at the finish line and felt nothing.
