So there's your American end assembled.
That's the crew working that cold open.
The port they arrive at is fittingly called the Port of Galilee on the bottom corner of Rhode Island.
You know, trawlers, seagulls, fuel docks, a Coast Guard station right there.
Nothing fancy.
What the cold open held back is the morning after, because at first light, as the bait drums full of hash come up the dock in the shadow of the Coast Guard station, Nicholas Kukielski arrives with his younger brother Peter.
And there is Newton himself, nearby, radio in hand, watching his own cargo land.
They get the product on American soil, landed clean all the way from the mountains of tribal Pakistan.
Oh, also after the big ocean crossing freighter drops off the hash, it's believed to have sunk.
Like nobody in the story ever explains it.
We have no idea what happened to it or the crew, but it somewhere on the bottom of the ocean.
So yeah, anyway, moving on.
Now that they have the hash in America in the houses, it's time for distribution.
And that runs out of two houses.
The first one, 75 Ocean Ave, Jamestown, Rhode Island, the staging villa.
Twelve bedrooms, 20 acres, sitting above the water with the kind of view people buy paintings of.
Newton rents it for June and July under the name John Mitchell.
Peter Kukielski, which is Nicholas's younger brother, gets paid a $2,000 bonus just to live in it and keep the lights on as a believable cover in the weeks before the load to deflect any suspicion.
House two is a split level home somewhere on Long Island, unremarkable on a street of unremarkable houses.
