We were talking before the show there, in our meeting, and I said I did a college course with Paul Rice a few years ago.
And it was about the growth of sport and the kind of ubiquity of it.
And he kind of did the course in a way that we were trying to figure out what the answer was.
And by the end of it, he just went, it's just media.
It's exposure.
That's it.
That's literally it.
Like with the League of Ireland, you have this extraordinary core group of fans that go to every game and travel around Europe following their teams.
And that's amazing.
But every team in Europe has that.
And then they have your more casual fans around that.
That's what the League of Ireland's missing.
And...
put the European games on TV, you'll probably find you'll pick up a few fans along the way.
As Matthew said, bring them on a journey.
They'll get invested.
You don't need everyone going to every single game.
It'd be nice to sell tickets, sell jerseys, all that type of stuff.
it's not just last night though it's like all these European games you have to get them all on TV like Matthew said it's the journey it's not just maybe last night sticking it on TV yeah the next game they play they won't get 8,000 because it was on TV but it's a domino effect
I don't think the onus is completely on the clubs to sell tickets either, though.
