So these short leases were given.

And in the 30s, I think it was seen as something about securing its future, maybe.

And by extending the golf course, it was implicit and really buffing it up and making such a strong test to golf that if championships were to come, it would almost secure its future.

And other golf courses were obviously talking and thinking like this as well.

However, it just became synonymous with Berkdale, and it's been remarkably successful.

uh air quotations championship test um even though i detest the phrase but really it has produced absolutely incredible winners you know i think the first open held there was peter thompson 154 and then he won again in 65 um palmer in 61 trevino 71 miller 76 tom watson and so many more um so it really if you if if you can

put a count of grade A winners to its open, that surely must count for something, even if we discount the old championship golf course term.

So that's a little bit on the history of it.

It is an interesting place.

It's got a Art Deco clubhouse and the carpet inside is actually like an overlay of the golf course.

So it's underneath your feet at all points.

So it's got a funky side to it, but it's a truly brilliant golf course.

It's got this championship history.

And as you alluded to in your brief introduction there, it is changed substantially since we've seen it in 2017.

And we're really looking forward to seeing it now that we've had a baked out summer in Britain and Ireland in a few weeks.

No, it's in one main front room where there's a casual dining had.

I think there's, we'll say, a six foot by six foot block of it has the whole course in it.

So I think at various points, you could be walking the 12th hole, Andy.

But it's really fun.

And it's always been a fun place to go to.
