The problem is that not only, as you said, do we lose any ancillary revenue from television because linear television is not what it was, from home media because physical media doesn't exist anymore.
Playstations are removing their discs.
Disney have said they're not releasing Blu-rays anymore.
So that whole market is completely dead.
But also, first of all, the movie is going to streaming in between 30 and 45 days, depending on the studio.
So the legs are cut off any long-term earnings there.
But also you have the issue of crowding in terms of cinemas, right?
As a rule, there are fewer movies being released now than there were five, ten years ago.
But that cut is happening at the bottom.
It's fewer low-budget indies, it's fewer mid-budget movies.
As a rule, the number of massive-budget movies that we're talking about, franchise films, has increased.
And the window in which you could release those movies has generally been relatively narrow.
You like to release them in the middle of summer, you like to release them coming up to Christmas.
And so what you have is you have a feeding frenzy.
So, to your point... Feast for famine.
