Like, that's really what's been lost is a sense of being a part of a we at all is something that has really been broken down, disintegrated.
And so, that allows the people who are at the levers of power to get away with almost anything because nobody really identified.
Like, nobody actually thinks about it.
It sounds like a, almost like a, you know, these days, it sounds like a 1950s kind of, you know, slogan or something maybe made sense in Beaver Cleaverville when they say, not in my name.
You know, that the government is doing these things in my name.
But people so much these days really don't, you know, and what that means is that the people who do have control of the levers of power can do pretty much whatever they want without worrying about backlash because nobody really identifies with it unless it harms them in some way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And don't you feel that?
Of course.
You know, I'm a history guy and nerd.
And so, you know, I think about and maybe this is something that only a nerd would do.
But, you know, I think about every time I read a history book about ancient Rome or the British Empire, just anything like that, I think about, wow, 500 years from now, people are going to be reading about America.
And what are they gonna read?
We put the first man on the moon.
Well, now we're shaping it so that they're gonna read a lot of... They're corrupting the way that my country, my people are gonna be remembered by future generations.
And that offends me.
It really does bother me.
And I think a lot of people would find that sentiment.
